Monday Morning Motivations
I just love Mondays, it is one of my favorite days of the week. I know, most folks dread Mondays, but to me the first day of the new week is a chance to have a fresh start and a clean slate. Now matter how bad last week was, I get to start fresh on Monday!
To ensure my week gets off to the best start, there are 3 areas I need to focus on before I begin my week. They are simple yet crucial to ensure I get started on the right foot.
MONDAY PREP
1. Choose a healthy habit each week to focus on.
I am at the age when bad habits are a dirty word. No more can I eat whatever I want and not regret it for weeks to come. I know I must get enough sleep to function well and eat a diet that will fuel me rather than just fill me. Each week I like to focus my attention on just one area that is falling behind a bit. I don’t have the attention span needed to change everything about myself. I learned quickly that small goals win with me!
2. Choose at least one BBT to complete each week.
How many times do you look over your to-do list and see the same nagging items buried there week after week? You know those to-do items that desperately need to be done but never seem to get done? I call those items Back Burner Tasks or BBT’S. Each week I try to get at least one BBT off my list.
3. Break up my weekly to-do list
I am a list girl (I know shocking, right?) so my favorite part of Monday is scheduling out my list. As you know I make all my lists for the week on Sunday. When Monday comes that is when I decide what will be done when. I simply grab my list and my calendar and assign a goal day to each major task. This simple step ensures I give attention to the main items on my list.
This simple Monday prep should only take a cup of coffee, yet it is an important part of ensuring I start my week off with intention and motivation. You will be surprised what a difference these 3 little steps will make in your own week.
